For over two decades, we’ve stood together, shared our stories, fought for change, and truly made a difference by pushing for an asbestos-free future. As we join together for our annual conference, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come in the past 20 years as the leader in the fight against asbestos in the United States.
To highlight the impact of Team ADAO’s work over the years, I’m excited to share our 2024 Impact Infographic: The Change You Make Happen, which provides an at-a-glance look at our progress and achievements.
I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished, and you should be, too. This success is a direct result of your unwavering support. Our strong and diverse community brings together asbestos victims and their families, scientists, trade unions, policymakers, public health advocates, donors, and sponsors. Your contributions of time, expertise, and financial support have fueled ADAO’s mission to educate, advocate, and provide a community. We sincerely thank each of you.
This past year, we made significant strides in advancing the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now (ARBAN) Act. Several judicial and legislative victories have given us a renewed sense of determination. By staying focused on pushing this critical legislation forward, our 2024 infographic could soon include a historic milestone: a federal, exemption-free ban on asbestos. We will continue to pursue both a legal and legislative approach to ensure that every American is protected from this known carcinogen.
As you may know, ADAO is an independent nonprofit that relies entirely on the generosity of our supporters. This infographic illustrates how far your contributions have gone and gives you a glimpse of where we’re headed.
Please consider donating now so we can finish the job and eliminate asbestos once and for all.
Together, we are driving meaningful change. We invite you to continue standing with us in this global fight, to share your story, and to contribute in any way you can—whether through time, donations, or simply spreading awareness—to help end the deadly legacy of asbestos.
We are very grateful to Jess Mattmuller for creating this stunning graphic that perfectly showcases ADAO’s annual achievements.
In unity,
Linda Reinstein
