The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is pleased to announce that the BADGES: A Memorial Tribute to Asbestos Workers photographic exhibit by award-winning photojournalist Earl Dotter will be on display at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health (HSPH) from October 26 – December 2, 2015.
In addition to the exhibit, Earl and I have an amazing educational opportunity to present a seminar to the HSPH public health masters, doctoral and postdoctoral students and the faculty about the history of asbestos, the human cost of inaction, and progress and challenges for the future. At ADAO, a vital part of our mission is to educate the public and medical community about asbestos related diseases. These students are the medical and public health professionals of the future. We are thrilled to extend the conversation around asbestos disease and prevention with them through his seminar.
The BADGES: A Memorial Tribute to Asbestos Workers exhibit is funded at Harvard by the Harvard Education and Research Center (T42 OH008416) and the Harvard-NIEHS Center for Environmental Health (P30 ES000002).
ADAO sincerely thanks Ms. Ann Backus, MS, an Instructor in Occupational Safety, and Director of Outreach for the Harvard Education and Research Center and the Harvard-NIEHS Center for Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health for her vision and guidance in making this exhibition and this first university seminar possible.
The BADGES exhibit will also be on display at the New England College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (NECOEM) Conference on December 3rd and 4th, 2015.
