April 7
More professionals are connected now than ever before, and social media has become a great tool for public health advocates. With a few clicks, you can connect with people around the world. Social media has become the backbone of ADAO’s efforts – giving legs to what once would have taken days, weeks, months, or even years. Through social media we can share and connect – tell stories, ask questions, and build a community. Today we have 10,000 followers on Twitter receiving our messages and spreading the seed of advocacy.
Innovative social media avenues have become our organizational interstate. ADAO utilizes the website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube as part of its social media strategy. Our most powerful tools are blogging and Twitter, whether it is from a professional expert or someone sharing their story. It is so easy to share your views now on Twitter and have your tweet picked up around the world in seconds.
Social media is all about connecting and sharing. The digital revolution is here and has made our 2011 Global Asbestos Awareness Week possible. If you haven’t already, join us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, & help ADAO raise awareness. Together, we make change happen!
Linda Reinstein is ADAO’s President/CEO and Co-Founder. She will be presenting at the Asbestos Awareness Conference on April 2, 2011. https://www.asbestosdiseaseawareness.org/adao-conference/
