Though times may be uncertain right now while we focus on distancing physically, we do not need to distance socially! ADAO would like to invite you to join our second virtual community event on April 14 from 3:30 – 5:30 ET, 2:30 – 4:30 CT, and 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm PT we will be screening the award-winning asbestos documentary DIRTY LAUNDRY.

On Friday, April 3rd we hosted our first Zoom lunch meeting with Dr. Arthur Frank to discuss COVID-19’s relation to asbestos. Our next zoom meeting will be a community event where we will screen the film and afterwards, have time to talk to the filmmakers.

Following the sudden and mysterious death of their Grandmother, Iva Lewis, cousins Zack and Conor set out across the U.S. to uncover the true reason for her death. DIRTY LAUNDRY follows Zack and Conor on a cross country bicycle trip to learn more about the asbestos-caused diseases that took their grandmothers life. Along the trip they uncover a trail of corporate corruption and broken families.

During the film, you will hear from:

  • Dr. Courtney Broaddus
  • Dr. Brad Black
  • Dr. Raja Flores
  • Dusti Thompson (CARD Clinic)
  • Julie Gundlach
  • Marilyn Amento
  • Mike and Jess Mattnuller
  • Jordan Zevon
  • Dr. Darrell Lewis, Jean Malone, Allen Johnson (Iva Lewis’s Family)
  • Linda Reinstein

Join Conor, Zack, and the ADAO team for a Zoom presentation of the film followed by a virtual conversation with the filmmakers. We hope it will be a time of comfort and community for those struggling through this dark time. Following the screening and discussion, we will open up the conversation for a short Q and A.

If you would like to participate in this event, please RSVP using this google form and we will send you a code to join the Zoom event!

We look forward to gathering virtually for another exciting Zoom event! Although we are apart, we are never alone. Hope to see you there!
