This Saturday, June 30^th, is Mashable’s Social Media Day around the world! The third annual SMD will bring people together through the power of “the digital revolution happening right before our eyes.” Participating in Rio +Social was a tremendous opportunity for ADAO, as we were able to learn from social media experts and social entrepreneurs about the new trends and technological advances to continue and expand the global conversation.  Through creativity, innovation, and collaboration we are able to bring out the full potential of this new way of reaching out to an ever-expanding community.

The UN Rio +Social conference was planned as a way to use new and social media to promote social good, and to get like-minded individuals from around the world involved in using technology to better the planet through various means. Hearing amazing speakers like Ted Turner, Sir Richard Branson, Kumi Naidoo, Pete Cashmore, and Muhammad Yunus, amongst so many others, truly opened our eyes and inspired us to step up the effort on our end to further our connections.
