Dear Friends,

We are pleased to share the news that we have reached a reconciliation that will enable the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat (IBAS) and the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) to reestablish a working arrangement which will, we believe, be of great benefit to both organizations and reinforce our efforts to ban asbestos from global markets and obtain justice for people suffering from asbestos-related diseases.

In the spirit of solidarity and collaboration, we have resolved the differences we have had during the past 18 months, as a result of which we look forward to working together with the global ban asbestos community on new initiatives in our respective countries, regions and around the world.

For over twenty years, the international ban asbestos campaign has been characterized by its spirit of inclusivity and cooperation. During this time, we have witnessed the incredible advancement in technology that has enabled us to connect and share information with an ever-expanding network. I feel that ADAO, which embraced the social media to reach out to individuals around the world, has shown the effectiveness of new methods of communication, with Linda pioneering many effective outreach initiatives.

We are truly looking forward to the renewal of friendship and cooperation between IBAS and ADAO; working together with the ban asbestos community we can go forward with a renewed sense of purpose and a momentum strengthened by our solidarity.

In unity,

Laurie and Linda
