ZEVONISTAS UNITE!!!

ZEVONISTAS UNITE!!! CANVAMy father, Warren Zevon, legendary singer/songwriter was taken from us 14 years ago by mesothelioma, the deadly disease related to asbestos exposure.

Despite the tireless work from the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), for whom I proudly serve as National Spokesperson, asbestos has not been banned in the United States.

On September 30th, I’ll be performing at the Miles for Meso fundraiser 5K in Alton, Illinois, which has chosen ADAO once again as the beneficiary of this wonderful event. Last year we broke a record with more than $40,000 raised for ADAO’s education and awareness work. Although I’ll be singing instead of running, I’m inviting everyone to join my virtual race team, the ZEVONISTAS  — you can think of it as more of a “Microphones for Meso” kind of thing.

Be sure to register here by September 4 to get your exclusive Miles for Meso T-shirt in time for the big day. Tweet a photo of you in your race day shirt using the #ZEVONISTAS and #MFM hashtags and we’ll retweet you, so together we can spread awareness far and wide! You can also support our cause by donating any amount without registering as a team member here

We need asbestos banned now. No one should suffer like my father and the other 15,000 Americans who die every year from preventable asbestos-caused diseases.
