The ADAO community of leaders and volunteers works so hard to make our world safer, and now it’s time to play hard!
In what began as a book by Dad’s trusted aide-de-camp, George Gruel, ”Lawyers, Guns and Photos” is being turned into a rockin’ party! I’m so proud to be a part of the once-in-a-lifetime event that will bring together dear friends, musicians, collaborators, and colleagues. The event will be held on July 7th from 7-10 p.m. at Mr. Musichead Gallery on 7420 W. Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles.
The house band will feature musicians Randy Brown, Larry Larson, and John Wood from Warren’s 1982 touring band along with David Landau and Zeke Zirngiebel from Warren’s 1980 band that played on the Stand in the Fire album! During the evening, they will be joined by incredible performers and guest appearances including: Jorge Calderon, Bob Glaub, Brian MacDonald, and Lee Sklar, plus others.
The evening’s events include:
- Live auction of rare Warren Zevon memorabilia benefitting ADAO
- Exclusive photo exhibition showcasing images of Warren’s rock star heyday
- ”Lawyers, Guns and Photos” book signing by George Gruel
This night is meant to honor my father, but also to bring awareness to asbestos-related diseases and the work of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO). In 2003, Dad lost his battle to mesothelioma at the young age of 56. My dad left many family members, friends, and fans behind when he was stolen from us, but his legacy will live on. You can read his story online at “My Hero, the World’s Hero” – Warren Zevon’s Story.
The evening’s proceeds will be donated to ADAO to be used for asbestos advocacy, prevention, and education.
I look forward to a great evening with the ADAO community, and I hope to see many of you there!
