Facebook 2021 Mesothelioma Warrior Tribute Bibs

Posted on September 25, 2021

As we join together again during Mesothelioma Awareness Month, the weeklong virtual Miles for Meso fundraiser to support ADAO begins on Saturday. For the thirteenth year, we remember and honor Mesothelioma Warriors with tribute bibs. We have compiled a Facebook Warrior Bib album with all of the bibs. Locate your bib, please print it and wear it during your hometown run/walk! If you do not see your Mesothelioma Warrior’s name, or did not submit a bib in time, we ask that you please print the blank bib and hand write your loved one’s name. A blank tribute bib was also included in the race packets and can be downloaded from the Alton virtual packet webpage.

This year, we had over 160 bib submissions from around the world, reflecting the power of unity, community, and hope. The stories told from mesothelioma patients, their families, and their loved ones humbled us, broke our hearts, gave us hope, and motivated us to further push for a complete ban, without any loopholes or extensions, on this toxic fiber.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Miles for Meso event, and we want to especially thank Simmons Hanly Conroy for sponsoring this great event, selecting ADAO as the beneficiary, and remaining a steadfast supporter of the ban asbestos movement.

Joined by a common bond and shared goal, the Mesothelioma Warrior community epitomizes the old Chinese proverb, “Out of the hottest fire comes the strongest steel.” Together, we are galvanized to end the asbestos man-made disaster. When the sun sets on September 26th, our work for Mesothelioma Warriors of today and the future will continue. Mesothelioma Awareness is more than a day or a month on the calendar for us — it is part of ADAO’s daily mission to eliminate mesothelioma and the other asbestos-caused diseases.

In honor, remembrance, and unity,

Linda Reinstein
