The Professional Abatement Contractors of New York (PACNY) will hold its annual conference on February 26th and 27th, 2026, at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. This two-day event will bring together experts in environmental health, asbestos abatement, and asbestos regulation to address key industry challenges. 
Among the featured sessions, ADAO will present “From the People’s House to Every House: Enforcement Gaps, Accountability, and the ARBAN Act in Asbestos Prevention.” This session will closely examine the challenges of implementing the EPA’s March 18, 2024, Chrysotile asbestos ban.

The session will also explore ADAO’s role and methods as an independent, survivor-informed public health advocacy organization that integrates science, law, policy, and digital storytelling to document asbestos-related harm and drive prevention-focused outcomes. Using the White House East Wing demolition as a contemporary case study, the presentation will outline the federal regulatory obligations triggered by demolition, the potential exposure risks, the broader systemic oversight and enforcement problems this example reveals, and ADAO’s actions and efforts for information and greater transparency.
