The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) will return to Washington, D.C., for its 21st Annual Asbestos Awareness & Prevention Conference, a two-day event dedicated to advancing science, strengthening policy, and elevating the voices of those impacted by asbestos-related disease.
Building on the momentum of our 2025 conference, ADAO’s 2026 theme strengthens our focus on Asbestos: Awareness, Prevention, and the Law.
It will feature a wide range of topics across four sessions:
- Session I: Two Decades of Advocacy: Milestones, Challenges, and the Road Ahead
- Session II: Asbestos Prevention and Health Impacts: Understanding Asbestos, Identifying Health Risks, and Advancing Diagnosis and Treatment Strategies
- Session III: The Asbestos Policy Journey and Strategic Advocacy: Overcoming Challenges, Digital Storytelling, and ADAO’s Multi-Track Strategies
- Session IV: Navigating Asbestos Law: ADAO Legal Overview, Administrative and Civil Justice, Legislative Hearings, Docket Filings, and the Impact of High Court Decisions
For more than a century, asbestos has caused preventable harm. Over the past two decades, ADAO has worked to confront that legacy through education, policy reform, and the strategic use of the law. Each year, ADAO convenes leading scientists, public health experts, policymakers, advocates, and affected families to drive measurable progress.
The 2026 conference will emphasize actionable solutions, translating scientific evidence and legal authority into prevention, regulatory accountability, and durable public health protections.
