Press Release: Alton Miles for Meso 5K Race to Benefit Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization

Posted on April 16, 2019

Registration opens on Monday, July 8, 2019.

Get ready to mark those calendars for the 2019 Miles for Meso fundraiser, taking place in Alton, IL on Saturday, September 28th. This is the 11th year that ADAO Platinum Sponsor Simmons Hanly Conroy LLP will be putting on this fabulous event.

The Miles for Meso weekend will kick off on Friday night, the 27th, with the annual Mesothelioma Warrior community dinner. In addition to the race on Saturday, there will also be family-friendly activities and a special performance by Jordan Zevon.

This annual event is one of the yearly highlights for our Mesothelioma Warrior community. It brings about 1,000 people together in a fun, healthy way, and even creates ways to connect digitally for those who can’t make it to the race in person. And of course, it raises mesothelioma awareness and funds for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO). Since 2014, ADAO has been the designated beneficiary for the Miles for Meso race in Alton which has raised $155,000.

Registration for this year’s Miles for Meso race will open on July 8, so be sure to keep an eye out for that link, along with more details about the Virtual Race, Tribute Bibs, and the Mesothelioma Warrior community dinner.

Marilyn Amento, Meso Warrior, and Miles for Meso team captain will be organizing the race teams. Keep your eyes peeled for those messages. If you would like to be a team captain for the 2019 Miles for Meso event, please email us at info@adao.us.

Save the date and start stretching those muscles! Together we will be on the starting line to “Fight Against Mesothelioma.”

In unity,

Linda
