ADAO needs you to spring into action! But don’t worry, I promise it will be easy…

Our 1oth Senate Staff Briefing is just around the corner on September 13, and we need to make sure that the room is packed. We’ve sent out a formal invitation, but nothing motivates a Senator or staffer like calls from their constituents!

There are 100 offices that need to be called, but if we divide and conquer it won’t take much. All we need is 10 volunteers to call 5 states, which is only 10 calls. Each call takes less than 3 minutes, and it’s very empowering. You can even use this as an opportunity to share your personal story with your Senator.

If you are willing to volunteer, please let me know and I will assign you a list of states. I will also send you a customized graphic showing the work you’ve done for ADAO and motivating others to help, too. Your graphic will be a customized version of the the one in this blog, listing the states you called.

Please let me know by Monday at noon if you can help out by making these 10 calls, as we’d like to start the call campaign as soon as possible.

Together, we are making change happen, one call at a time!

Use the following script when calling your Senate offices. You can also send them our briefing invitation flyer via fax or email if you’d like.

Phone Script: “Hello, my name is (first name) and I am one of your constituents from (town where you live).  I’m calling to confirm that your health and environmental staffers received the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization’s invitation to their Staff Luncheon Briefing on September 13 at 12 PM. This invitation was sent to your office on Monday August 1. If you want to search your inbox, the sender name is Linda Reinstein. This briefing is important to me and I urge the health and environmental staffers to attend this educational briefing about implementing TSCA and why asbestos must be prioritized in the first ten high-risk chemicals. Please RSVP by Friday, September 9, 2016 via the link on the invitation flyer or call: (310) 251-7477. Thank you.”
