The Wall Street Journal reviewed 850,000 trust claims from 1980 to 2012. As a mesothelioma widow, I am disgusted that our lives and rights to civil justice are negated.
Asbestos, a known carcinogen, remains a threat to Americans in homes, schools, and at workplaces as it continues to expose men, women, and children to asbestos. USGS reported “The United States is dependent on imports to meet manufacturing needs.” America consumes an estimated 1,060 tons of asbestos per year, based on asbestos imports through July 2012.
Americans should be protected from toxic asbestos and corporations who put profits over people by importing or manufacturing asbestos products.
Congress should focus their time and attention to draft and pass legislation that protects public health from deadly asbestos-caused diseases.
Sincerely,
Linda Reinstein
