Meet Me in L.A. Concert: Celebrating Warren Zevon’s Legacy with Music, Memory, and Meaning
This October, Los Angeles will host an extraordinary night of music honoring one of rock’s most distinctive voices. The Wild Honey Foundation and the Zevon Family are presenting Meet Me in L.A.: The Songs of Warren Zevon, a benefit concert that promises to be both a heartfelt tribute and a powerful call to action.
Set for Friday, October 24, 2025, at the United Theater, the show will feature a lineup of legendary musicians and longtime friends of Zevon, including Jackson Browne, Shooter Jennings, Jordan Zevon, Marshall Crenshaw, Jorge Calderón, Phil Cody, Susan Cowsill, Steve Wynn, Inara George, and Eleni Mandell. The Wild Honey Orchestra, with Leland Sklar and Bob Glaub, will back the performances under the direction of Rob Laufer and Jordan Summers. Together, they will bring to life 25 of Zevon’s iconic songs, celebrating a career that blended sardonic wit with heartbreaking beauty.
A Cause Close to the Heart
The concert is not just about music; it is about making a difference. Proceeds will benefit the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) and the Ed Asner Family Center. This partnership is deeply personal.
Jordan Zevon, ADAO spokesperson and Warren’s son, shared, “When my father died from mesothelioma, I was lost. Who was to blame? Where could I channel my heartbreak? ADAO gave me purpose. A path to educate and advocate instead of feeling helpless. We must prevent other families from suffering the same loss. This silent killer was sold to the world as a miracle. They were wrong. It is long overdue that we accept this mistake and move forward.”
Jordan has dedicated years to raising awareness about the dangers of asbestos, the toxic mineral that caused his father’s mesothelioma. Through advocacy, education, and events like this concert, he continues to honor his father’s legacy while working to prevent future tragedies.
Remembering Warren Zevon
Warren Zevon’s songs, from the haunting Keep Me in Your Heart to the irreverent Werewolves of London, continuously resonate with fans and musicians alike. Keep Me in Your Heart, written during his final days, has become an anthem of love and remembrance. The song earned Zevon a posthumous Grammy Award, and it lives on through this concert and ADAO’s annual Keep Me in Your Heart Award, presented at its Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference to honor those whose courage inspires change.
This year has been particularly meaningful for Zevon’s fans. Earlier in 2025, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, receiving the Musical Influence Award. The honor placed him alongside legends like Hank Williams and Billie Holiday, cementing his status as a songwriter whose impact transcends generations.
A Night Not to Miss
Meet Me in L.A. promises to be more than a concert; it will celebrate life, music, and the enduring fight for public health and justice. As Jordan Zevon reflected on his father’s Hall of Fame induction, “There’s this undercurrent of his influence in a lot of musicians and a lot of people’s lives.” We plan to explore that undercurrent in LA.
On October 24, that influence will take center stage in Los Angeles. Fans will gather not only to sing along to the songs they love but also to support causes that matter deeply to the Zevon family.
Tickets go on sale Friday, August 8, at 10 a.m. PST, with a pre-sale beginning Tuesday, August 5. This will be a night to remember, for the music, for the message, and for Warren.
