Whether in person or as an ADAO Mesothelioma Warrior Virtual “Biking for a Ban” Team member, ADAO invites you to join us on the starting line as we race for asbestos and Mesothelioma awareness. This year, the 11th Annual Alton Miles for Meso 5k Race and 3k Fun Run/Walk will benefit our organization’s advocacy efforts, and we couldn’t be more grateful! The race is set for Saturday, September 28 at 9:00 AM in Alton, Illinois.
This event wouldn’t be possible without our amazing “Biking for a Ban” Team, an incredible bunch of people dedicated to spreading Mesothelioma awareness. Meet the Mesothelioma Warrior Team Captain: Marilyn, and Team: Ann, Courtney, Jess and Mike, Jill Cagle, Jill and Nancy Waite, and Julie! Each of these Warriors are patients, loved ones, or advocates committed to spreading awareness across the country. Their unique stories are featured in our Share Your Story Collection. Although they won’t all be joining us in person in Alton, they will be organizing meet-ups on the day of the race in their hometown to send support from afar. This annual event is one of the yearly highlights for our Mesothelioma Warrior community. It brings about 1,000 people together in a fun, healthy way, and even creates ways to connect digitally for those who can’t make it to the race in person. And of course, it raises mesothelioma awareness and funds for ADAO. Since 2014, the Alton Miles for Meso race has raised a total of $155,000 for our organization, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
