In 2025 we will host two ceremonies — one April 7th on the final day of Global Asbestos Awareness Week, and a second remembrance, September 26th on Mesothelioma Awareness Day.
Mesothelioma Warrior Candle Lighting Names submission will open next year.
We believe recognizing these days specifically will provide our community with better opportunities throughout the year to come together and honor each other and our work during these shared tributes.
Inspired by Jill “Jillypoo” Vaughn’s legacy, we proudly continue this tradition and invite all to join us in support of those impacted by mesothelioma. We hold each flame high to honor memories and embody our community’s enduring support and strength. We encourage everyone to share their candle-lighting experiences and stories on social media using the hashtag #MesotheliomaWarriors.
Since Jill began this tradition in 2000, our Candle Lighting Tribute has brought hope and inspiration year after year. May the flames of courage, hope, and community continue to burn brightly in our hearts forever.
