The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is thrilled to present our 20th Anniversary Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference Program! This comprehensive program offers vital conference information and moving stories about Mesothelioma Warriors, experts, honorees, presenters, sponsors, and supporters—all working together toward a shared goal: an asbestos ban.

The program, which spans 128 pages, not only captures the depth and ambition of the conference but also provides a window into the global ban-asbestos movement. It features contributions from nearly 30 experts, including doctors, legal professionals, labor leaders, and socioeconomic advocates. This wide range of content reflects the collaborative and interdisciplinary approach necessary to drive meaningful change in asbestos awareness, prevention, and policy.

For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, ADAO hosted our awards dinner. We recognized the 2024 award recipients alongside the 2021–2023 honorees, who finally received their awards in person. This heartwarming reunion underscored the global community’s resilience and commitment to banning asbestos and preventing asbestos-related diseases.

Perhaps most importantly, the program honors the lives and struggles of individual asbestos victims. By spotlighting their stories, we hope this program can serve as a valuable resource for everyone who shares our goal of banning asbestos once and for all.

During the conference, ADAO proudly unveiled the new publication Shared Stories: How Asbestos Changed Our Lives Forever, featuring over 200 personal testimonials from individuals and families impacted by asbestos-related diseases. These powerful stories are the heart of our movement, serving as poignant reminders of the human toll of asbestos exposure. This collection will become a legacy instrumental in advocacy campaigns to show policymakers, the media, and the public the human cost of asbestos.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers, the Science and Prevention Advisory Boards, and the ADAO leadership who dedicated countless hours to create this remarkable conference program. A special thank you goes to our 2024 Conference Sponsors:

Your generous support is the backbone of our education, advocacy, and community-building efforts.

Together, we are driving change and forging a path toward a future free of asbestos.

With gratitude,
Linda Reinstein
