Do you have a question for the new ADAO ChatBot: The Source – 20 Years of Asbestos Knowledge
Posted on March 29, 2025
On Day Six of Global Asbestos Awareness Week (GAAW), we spotlight the growing power of digital education in the global fight to end asbestos exposure. Today’s theme—“Leveraging Digital Education for Prevention”—reminds us that knowledge is power, and access to trusted, multilingual information is essential to saving lives.
We begin with the compelling story of Sara from France, featured in “Someone Pulled the Emergency Brake!” Her experience is a stark reminder of how vital it is to raise awareness before exposure occurs—especially in countries where asbestos remains legal and largely invisible.
To meet this challenge, ADAO proudly introduces The Source—a groundbreaking multilingual AI-powered chatbot built on two decades of advocacy, science, and community engagement. This tool offers immediate, reliable answers to asbestos-related questions—available anytime, anywhere, in any language.
We also spotlight the “kNØw Asbestos” website, an evolving digital education hub filled with fact sheets, infographics, videos, and recordings from ADAO’s Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conferences. These tools help extend expert knowledge far beyond conference rooms—into homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
We are especially proud to work alongside our Organizing Partners for Prevention, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS). Their leadership in embedding risk management into policy, education, and industry practices has been vital to global prevention efforts.
As Ruth Wilkinson, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at IOSH, affirms:
#2025GAAW Day Six Call to Action: Check out the new ADAO ChatBot: The Source – 20 Years of Asbestos Knowledge.
Despite progress, asbestos remains legal and lethal in dozens of countries, and its toxic legacy still threatens lives through aging infrastructure and unsafe practices.
As we move forward, tools like The Source—backed by strong partnerships and accessible education—are helping shape a safer, healthier future.
Together, through innovation and awareness, we are building the foundation for prevention and justice.
